all_that_matters_carlo_amiMy first book, All That Matters is designed for those who are relatively new to the idea of a more enlightened spiritual path.  If you have a traditional religious background and are questioning it, this would be the book to start with.  Or if you are just beginning to get more clarity about your spiritual nature, please start with this book.

For an introduction excerpt from this book, click here.

Your investment in yourself:  $30

Includes a set of Consciousness Cards, beautiful  4 x 6" cards that make great reminders for your spiritual empowerment.  You will receive 3 each of 3 different cards.  These can be special gifts to yourself, to a loved one, or to anyone you would like to help inspire.  For more info on these cards, click here.

The words below are from my original website, created in 2005.

"Hollywood has its 'make-up artists.' I consider myself a 'wake up artist.' As I awaken more fully to the wonders of life and spiritual evolvement, I take great pleasure in sharing what I have uncovered with those who intend to awaken themselves."
- Carlo Ami

Since a cathartic spiritual experience I had in 1998, a book has slowly taken form. In the three weeks following that experience, I felt compelled to pick up a pen and write every evening. After that, the profound yet simple ideas came at a slower pace. Ideas, teachers, and situations have come to me with chunks of what I consider deep wisdom. What has now resulted is a book that is designed to assist people in the arts of self-discovery, happiness, inspiration and spiritual evolution. Take a little walk with me on these brief pages. Then ask your heart if you are ready for this book, “All That Matters”.
The pages of my book reflect my truth. As you will see, I do not suggest that my truths should be your truths. What I have learned – much of it via decades of unproductive, self-destructive behavior – is that life IS beautiful, and that our greatest challenge is not with the outside world. It is in managing the workings of our own minds.

Who Has Your Answers?

Since you have found your way to this website, it is very likely that you have at least started to ask some of the more important questions:
• “Who am I?”
• “How can I be more loving?”
• “What is my purpose?”
• “How can I be happier?”
• “How can I more efficiently evolve spiritually?”
Many people turn to religion for answers and inspiration. Subscribing to the vast majority of organized religion carries a high price tag. In exchange for the convenience of having your religion give you its version of how you should run your life and what you should believe, you generally get huge chunks of spiritually counter-productive emotion and belief: guilt, shame, unworthiness and fear of eternal damnation - and that’s just for starters.
While books, seminars, spiritual leaders, motivational experts, and others may provide some great clues and true wisdom, no other human being, book, or presentation can be your ultimate source of wisdom and contentment. So how does one find that source?

Awake or Asleep?

The answers to the questions most important to us are already available. To get to them, it’s important to clear out some of the thick overgrowth (fears, traumas, preconceptions, feelings of unworthiness, etc.) that we have allowed to cloud our minds. It’s also important, I believe, for us to focus on the questions or concepts that we want to clarify for ourselves. Much of the world is asleep. It stays that way with the help of drugs, excess food, and other diversions. Would you be happier if you were more awake?

Your Choices

Everywhere you look, it’s easy to find a spiritual leader, book, seminar or course that suggests impersonal answers to your personal questions and challenges. Looking outside yourself to provide a thorough and customized set of remedies for what ails you spiritually or emotionally is like asking a doctor to do a complete physical examination over the telephone. What I offer you in “All That Matters” is something quite different from that. I provide brief ideas—just a sentence or two at a time - for you to contemplate before you decide whether to accept it.

Discovering Yourself

I do not claim to be a fully enlightened being, a Martian or someone who lived centuries ago and is now being “Channeled through Carlo.” What I have created for you is a simple, easy-to-use tool that you can use to more fully discover – and then tend to – what matters to you.
It doesn’t take a lot of reading to use this program. This book simply contains short belief statements that are clearly separated so that you can take them one at a time. If you consider or meditate upon them, your self-knowledge and wisdom will grow. The next part is what makes “All That Matters” different from any other spiritual or self-help book I know of.

Are you willing?

What you can do to get the most out of this book is to take one idea at a time – just a sentence or two, usually – and after contemplating it and optionally (and preferably) meditating on the concept, decide whether you can believe the idea or not. If not, cross those lines out of the book and write your own belief about that topic. The book then becomes truly yours. Still, the most interesting and challenging part of the journey is ahead: Actually living in a way that is consistent with the ideas in the book as you have edited them. If you do that, you will receive feedback through your experiences as to how well your beliefs are working for you. This is one of the basic laws of the universe: Be aware of the opportunities for learning and growth that your experiences provide. You will find yourself continually repeating similar challenging experiences in your life until you start paying attention and responding more lovingly.

What's Your Focus?

When it comes to solving problems, most people would rather focus on trying to help other people or just pretending that nothing is a challenge…or that life is all just too much. It’s much easier doing one of those things than diving into your own stuff…and just about guaranteed to keep you stuck in spiritual/emotional mud for as long as you are unwilling to go inside yourself. If you choose to summon up the courage to explore your inner self, the rewards will amaze you.
Many of us were brought up with the idea that, “life is just a bitch and then you die.” Some believe that a hell of some kind awaits them after this life, or that we are already in hell right here. What do you believe about hell? And where did you get that belief?

You Get to Choose

When I state something in the book that I consider to be a truth, I do not ask you to just blindly buy it. To fit who you are right now, you may need to tweak it a little or make big changes for it to fit you.
So what is my intent in writing this book? It is to speed my own spiritual evolvement and to assist others in the same quest. It is my belief that we (our souls) keep coming back into another body each time after we die until such time as we have reached a level of loving perfection. My life has not been easy. Some stretches of it could easily be labeled by some as a “living hell”. I do not intend to come back for any more lives than necessary before reaching a level of enlightenment that will afford my soul the option of eternal joy.
And if that statement leads you to label me “daffy”, I simply bless you on your way!

Ready?  Start here

I’ll close this page with a belief statement from the book to help you get started in the process, if you so choose. If you find a quiet place to consider this concept, I think that you will find the time well spent:

"If God is in everything and everyone,
then God is in me. I can go inside for answers
."

PS: To assist you in contemplating the ideas in the book, I have licensed some of the finest music and tones for meditation/contemplation and put them on a 74-minute CD.  If you have tried meditation and have found it difficult to "shut up the committee," this CD will help you.  And I do guarantee that.
