FAQ and Tips About the Tuning Into Your Self CD

Add your comments and questions here and I will respond, adding the best questions into the FAQ.

General Suggestion: Use only one meditation session per day, or one in the morning and one in the evening.   Experiment with different track combinationsIf you can set up playlists or program your player, I suggest that you experiment programming in three or more of the Drone track at the end of your selection for a day so that when the initial selected track is over you can go deeper into your contemplation or meditation.

I lost the Track Guide that came with the CD.  How can I get another one?

Go to http://www.yourpausebutton.com/2009062664/Books-by-Carlo-Ami/tuning-into-your-self-cd.htmlThe entire track guide is presented on this page.  You can highlight it and save to a file, then print it.

I am having a problem quieting my mind when I meditate.  What do you suggest?

Use "The Drone" exclusively for a week or two.  Start with just one track of it, then build up to 4 or more.  This track has been very effective for many in quieting that "itty bitty shi**y committee"--the chaotic, chatty mind.  After a week or two, as you find it easier to quiet your mind, you might choose to start each tuning in session with "The Drone" and and then add additional tracks to your session playlist.

Track 8, "Face" is really strange and I feel unsettled when I listen to it.  What should I do?

This track is designed to bring up negative energy for you to "Face".  If you are in the care of a psycholgical professional, please consult with that person as to how much or how often you mightuse the track.  If you experience very challenging emotions that are difficult for you when you play it,consider shifting to "The Drone" and do not play "Face" again that day.  There is, I beleive, great potential in this recording to help people bring up and release negative traumatic energies.  Use it with caution and moderation. Please consult the track guide for more information.

I feel a sense of bliss when I listen to two specific tracks.  How might I expand this sense?

Program your player or create a playlist in which the tracks are repeated for as long a period of time as you wish to meditate.  You might experiment with ending the playlist with "The Drone" and expeience any difference you have with that as opposed to just using the bliss-enducing track or tracks.

Is there any reason why I shouldn't blend several tracks I like into one playlist for a meditation session?

No.  When you come up with a combination you really like, use it as often as you like.

While I do not claim to be a "fully enlightened being", I have been blessed with many teachers and I have found a clear sense of purpose and vision after half a lifetime of fear, frustration, anger, addiction, and self-sabotage. My teachers have taken many forms: Local mentors, great books, Native American/Lakota teachers, the calm and heat of the desert, sound healers, meditative practice, conferences/seminars and the basic joys and challenges of life.

Some of the most cathartic realizations/changes I have experienced have come in the silence of meditation. While some might call the clarity felt in these moments as “channeling”, it is my sense that the words and feelings that have come to me do not necessarily have an external source: my truth is that the deepest wisdom comes from within us. We simply are challenged to recognize this source and trust its high value.

Having spent so much of the earlier times in my life in what some might call a living hell, my inspiration is to offer ideas and encouragement to others who intend to have a life of more presence, calm, trust and love. I believe that all this is possible, particularly when one builds a sense of value for the wisdom that is within.

I welcome your questions and feedback.

Carlo, your written and audio programs have helped me and I am using them to help the brain damaged residential patients where I work. These patients are making true shifts as a result of working with your book and the Quick Retreats CD. Thank you for these wonderful programs!
